Ingredients for Puff pastry and nutella sweets

1 roll puff pastry
250 g Nutella®
3 tablespoons sugar
q.s. milk (for brushing)

Tools

1 Cutter
1 Brush
1 Baking Tray

Preparation of Puff pastry and nutella sweets

Remove the puff pastry from the refrigerator, unroll it and leave it on its supplied baking paper.

Line a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper.

Spread half of the pastry with Nutella.

Using the parchment paper, lift the pastry and place it on top of the Nutella, matching the edges.

How to form sweets

Using a pastry wheel, cut the pastry into strips about a finger thick, starting from the fold of the puff pastry.

Gently lift one strip, twist it onto itself then knot it, as if you were tying a knot without overtightening.

Arrange the pastry on parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Continue in the same way with all the strips.

Arrange them on the drip pan slightly apart because they will swell during cooking.

Brush the sweets with milk using a silicone kitchen brush.

Sprinkle them generously with sugar.

How to Bake Puff Pastry and Nutella Sweets

Bake in a preheated conventional oven at 400°F (200°C) , in static mode, for about 15 or until they have reached a nice golden color.

If you have a convection oven, bake the treats at 350°F (180°C) for about 10-12 minutes.

Baking times are approximate so always adjust according to your oven that only you know.

How to store Puff Pastry and Nutella Sweets

These treats will keep at room temperature, sealed in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days at most.

I recommend, however, to consume the cookies the same day to better enjoy the fragrance.
In fact, the next day, the puff pastry may be a bit soft, especially if they get air or moisture.

Variants and advice

You can fill the treats with jam or your favorite hazelnut cream, or even cream or just sugar and cinnamon.

If you want you can omit the sugar to sprinkle.
Or replace it with brown sugar to give it a little more of a caramel taste.
