I love this dish! It reminds me as a child when my grandmother used to make it for me.

There is no one who can resist a plate of spaghetti with meatballs, especially children.

It is very easy to prepare.

All you have to do is knead the meatballs and cook them in the pan with the tomato sauce, add the
pasta and that’s it

Meatballs ingredients

  • 6 ouncespork (ground)
  • 13/4 cupcheese (grated parmesan)
  • 6 ouncesbeef (ground)
  • 13/4 cupbread crumb
  • 1egg (whole)
  • 11/2 cupolive oil
  • garlic (1 clove)
  • 11/4 cupparsley (minced)
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • pepper (ground )
  • 1 spoonmilk

sauce ingredients

  • 18 ouncestomato sauce (1 can)
  • 1onion (minced)
  • garlic (1 clove)
  • spoonssalt (1 and 1/2 spoon)
  • 1 teaspoonsugar
  • 10basil (chopped fresh leaves )
  • 1 spoonolive oil
  • 14 ouncesspaghetti


preparation of meatballs

  1. In a bowl combine the meat, Parmesan, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.

    Mix using your hands.

  2. Prepare about 25/30 1 inch balls.

    Arrange them on a baking sheet.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    Add the meatballs (not all together) and brown on all sides for 5 minutes.

    Drain on a paper towel lined plate. Set the meatballs aside and keep the cooking oil in the pan.

preparation of sauce

  1. in the same pan where they cooked the meatballs add the onion and garlic and cook until they become translucent.

    Add the tomato sauce, chopped basil leaves, salt, sugar, ground pepper if used.

    Stir and cook over medium / low heat for about 20 minutes.

  2. in the meantime, cook the spaghetti in a pot with boiling salted water.  

final preparation

  1. Add the meatballs to the pan with the sauce and mix gently.

    Lower the heat to low and cook for another 15 minutes.

    Drain the spaghetti al dente and pour them into the pan with the sauce and meatballs.

  2. Mix everything together and cook for another minute.

    Serve the spaghetti with the meatballs sprinkle with more Parmesan.

You can use whatever ground beef you want to use. I used half beef and half pork but you can use all beef or all pork or even ground chicken.
