- 300 gbéchamel sauce (besciamella)
- 150 gham, high quality
- 50 gitalian parmesan (grated)

Cook the fennel
Remove the stem off the fennel and then cut the bulbs in half lengthwise.
Discard the cores and cut the bulbs in wedges.
Place a large pot on the stove with salted water and bring to a boil.
Add the fennel and simmer for 10 minutes until tender.
Drain from water and place fennel in a bowl. Set aside.
Assemble the ingredients
Chop half of the ham and after that add it to the béchamel sauce.
Pour half of the béchamel mixture into a 25×15 cm rectangular baking dish.
Arrange the fennel wedges in the baking dish, after which cover with the remaining béchamel.
Spread the remaining chopped ham and Parmesan cheese over the top.
How to Bake the Italian style baked fennel with ham
Bake Italian style fennel with prosciutto in a preheated 350°F (180°C) oven for about 25 minutes or until the surface turns golden brown.
Let the baked fennel rest for 10 minutes and then serve it to your guests.
