CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE is the classic dessert to enjoy as a snack or for breakfast that you will never tire of eating.

A quick and easy recipe prepared with simple ingredients. In the dough there is ricotta cheese which makes this dessert soft and moist but you can replace it with cream cheese or yogurt.

A pound cake with a wonderful and soft consistency, without butter therefore also suitable for those who want to follow a diet.

I prepare it often and it is always a success!

Ingredients

2/3 pound cake flour (300 g )
1/2 pound ricotta cheese (250 g or yogurt or fresh cream cheese)
3.5 ounces dark chocolate (100 g)
2 egg
3.3 ounces milk (100 ml)
6.4 ounces sugar (180 g)
1 sachet baking powder for sweets
q.s. icing sugar (for decorating)

1 Plumcake mold

Steps

STEP 1

In a large bowl put eggs, ricotta and sugar and mix well with a spatula.

Add milk while continuing to mix.

In the meantime, melt the chopped chocolate in the microwave then allow to cool slightly.

STEP 2

When the chocolate is cold, add the egg, ricotta, sugar and milk mixture and mix well.

Finally add sifted flour with baking powder and incorporate with a spatula.

STEP 3

Transfer the mixture into a pound cake mold (mine measures 30×10 cm) greased and floured.

Bake in a preheated static oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.

Before removing from the oven, check that it is cooked with a toothpick.

Allow to cool slightly before removing from the mold.

Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.

STORAGE

The chocolate pound cake can be kept for 3 days at room temperature, closed in a container.

NOTE

To make the chocolate pound cake more delicious you can add chocolate chips to the dough.
