The recipe is very easy. I started by boiling the potatoes until tender but firm, then sliced them into thick rounds. I filled each pair with a generous slice of cheese, wrapped the whole ‘sandwich’ in savory raw ham, and baked them with a touch of butter and fresh thyme until the cheese was perfectly melted and the ham was crispy.

Preparation
Potato sandwiches with raw ham and cheese are very easy to prepare.
First of all, wash the potatoes using a vegetable brush, scrub each potato under lukewarm running water. Put them in a large sauce pan and cover with lightly salty cold water.
Bring to the boil and let them cook for about 30 minutes (count 30 minutes when the water begins to boil).
Advertisement Cooking time will vary depending on how many potatoes and size of pieces.
Drain potatoes and if desired rinse using hot water. Cold water rinsing will cause the potatoes to get lumpy.

Peel the potatoes, then let them cool down for some minutes.
