HOW TO PREPARE I LOVE YOU TART
1)
First, prepare the shortcrust pastry following all the steps in my recipe here.
2)
Then, take dough out of the fridge and let it sit for a few minutes to soften slightly for easy rolling.
On a floured surface, roll out two thirds of your pastry to a 10” (25 cm) circle. Carefully roll the pastry around the dusted rolling pin, then unroll into the tart mold.
I use this specific mold for pies with a removable bottom can: you easily unmold it.
Cut off the excess dough and prick the base with a fork. Spoon the jam into the case and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge, or 10 minutes in the freezer.
Now, bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25 – 30 minutes .
4)
While the tart is in the oven, dedicate yourself to the decorations . Roll out the remaining dough and cut out the hearts using the appropriate mold and the phrase “I love You” with the alphabet molds .
Finally, place everything on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for about 5 – 10 minutes in a preheated oven. Keep the cooking under control: the heart cookies take about 5 minutes , while the letter cookies take a few minutes less.
Once cooked, assemble the cake and serve. Enjoy!
Buon appetito.
