BLUEBERRY BUTTERMILK SCONES.. i love berries, their slightly sweet-sour flavor gives e dona ai dolci that unique flavor that makes them truly special. Today I offer them to you inside delicious scones that are called scones.
A typical Scottish sweet, similar to brioche dough, but definitely less sweet. Generally accompany the afternoon tea, but not only, because you can also prepare a savory version. They can be served in a variety of ways: with clotted cream and jam, with honey or lemon curd or cold cuts and cheese.
There are different variants of scones; with chocolate chips, raisins, fresh fruit and like these that I prepared with blueberries.
The scones are a really simple recipe to make at home, you can like this one you see in the picture, give the dough a single form, which then divide into wedges once cooked. Or make small sandwiches that you will then stuff with the creams of your choice.
Today’s Blueberry Scones came out moist and buttery. The flavor of the blueberries with the slight hint of tanginess from the buttermilk is really something special.
You can also use frozen blueberries for this recipe, although I prefer them fresh because they are drier and don’t contain moisture. But if you do want to use frozen ones, I recommend lightly pureeing them in a pan.
