Homemade strawberry lemonade is a refreshing and thirst-quenching beverage, perfect for serving during hot summer afternoons. If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic cocktail to enjoy without too much fuss, besides the virgin mojito, you can prepare this delicious and colorful drink. Strawberry lemonade is a healthy beverage made only from fresh fruit, which can be sweetened according to taste and dietary needs; genuine and tasty, it will also be loved by children, who will surely prefer it to many packaged sugary drinks. To prepare the strawberry lemonade, just a few simple steps are needed: a syrup is made with water and sugar and blended with strawberries and lemon juice. The resulting mixture, which has a very intense flavor, is then diluted with cold water. Serve the strawberry lemonade ice-cold, in glasses filled with ice, which you can garnish, if desired, with fresh chopped strawberries.

How to make homemade strawberry lemonade
Puoi trovare la versione italiana della ricetta qui!
To make strawberry lemonade, start by putting 1/2 cup (120 ml) of water from the total amount into a saucepan. Place it on the stove and add sugar. The amount of sugar can vary depending on your taste or needs; I used 1/4 cup (50 g). Dissolve the sugar well and let it boil for about 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
Squeeze the lemons; wash the strawberries and cut them into pieces. In a blender, blend the strawberries with the lemon juice and add the now cooled sugar-water syrup.
Blend for about a minute, until you get a liquid, homogeneous, and somewhat thick mixture.
Put some ice in a large pitcher, add the blended strawberry mixture (8), and extend it with 1 and a half cups (280 ml) of cold water. Stir the strawberry lemonade well and, if not serving immediately, keep it refrigerated.
When serving, fill large glasses with ice, strawberry pieces, and lemon slices. Pour in the strawberry lemonade and serve immediately.
How to Store Strawberry Lemonade
You can store strawberry lemonade in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
Tips and variations
If you are on a diet, you can make strawberry lemonade without sugar or substitute it with a sweetener: in both cases, you can skip the first step of boiling water and/or sweetener, and add them directly in the blender.
If you prefer a fizzy drink, you can replace the water with sparkling water.
For an even fresher aroma, add a sprig of fresh mint to each glass.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What can I use instead of sugar?
You can sweeten strawberry lemonade with honey, maple syrup, agave syrup, or a sweetener like stevia or erythritol. In all these cases, there is no need to prepare the syrup; you can blend everything together with the strawberries and lemon juice.
