Ingredients for about 30 chocolate peanut butter truffles

4.5 ounces sponge cake (or another soft cake – 130 g)
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy – 130 g / 4,5 oz)
1 cup chocolate chips (170 g / 6 oz)
1 pinch salt
peanuts (as required for decoration)

How to make chocolate peanut butter truffles

Put the base of your chocolate peanut butter truffles in a bowl: as previously said, it can be sponge cake, plum cake or any kind of soft cake. Crumble the dough with your hands and add a pinch of salt. Then, add peanut butter.

Stir all the ingredients with a tablespoon, until you get a pasty dough. Roll the dough between your hands to make small balls, about the size of a walnut: they will be the base of your chocolate peanut butter truffles.

Place them on a tray lined with baking paper and lightly mash them to flat the base. Let stand them in the freezer for a few minutes (just the time to melt the chocolate).

Chop the dark chocolate with a knife and let it melt in the microwave. With a fork, dip and roll every ball into melted chocolate.

Place back the chocolate peanut butter truffles on the tray lined with baking paper. Put a small piece of peanut over every truffle before the chocolate solidify.

Once covered, place them in the fridge for at least an hour until serving.
