Ingredients for Thin and Soft Focaccia Bread

21/8 cups all purpose (AP) flour (260 g – 9 oz)
2/3 cup water (160 g – 5,60 oz)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (15 g – 0,50 oz)
1/2 teaspoon malt (or sugar)
3/4 teaspoon salt (5 g – 0,2 oz)
1 teaspoon dried beer yeast (4g – )
extra-virgin olive oil (for the surface)
salt (for the surface)
1 sprig rosemary

Tools

1 Food processor
1 Pastry board
1 Rolling pin

Steps

Thin and Soft Focaccia Bread recipe is really easy to make.

First, prepare the dough. Put the water, oil and salt in the food processor. Add half the flour and start kneading.

When the flour is completely absorbed, add the baking powder and the rest of the flour. If you see that the dough is too soft, add flour; but, if it’s too dry, add the water, a little at a time.

Then, knead for at least 5 minutes. When the dough comes off the bowl, it means that it is well strung, so it’s ready.

Take the dough and give it 3-4 folds; this procedure is useful to give it strength.

Form a ball and put it to rest, in a lightly oiled bowl, (1) for at least 1 hour or in any case until it doubles its volume. Here is the dough after rising: I let it rise for 2 hours (2).

Heat the oven at 480°F (250° C).

At this point, separate the dough into three equal parts (3) and roll out each ball with a rolling pin, trying to give it a circular shape.
