Simple Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

Simple Strawberry Smoothie Recipe, fresh and nourishing drink, ideal for breakfast or as a snack on the hottest days, but perfect all year round with seasonal fruit.

Generally, the Smoothie is a fruit-based drink, but it can also be made with vegetables. It’s halfway between a milk smoothie, a fruitshake and a milkshake and it’s prepared with a simple blender or a food processor and, depending on the consistency you want, you can use, milk or yoghurt or soy milk or ice cream or cream but also fruit juice. It depends on your tastes.

In this recipe I used fresh and well-ripe strawberries (they’re sweeter) and plain Greek yogurt. The result? A delicious and creamy smoothie: easy to make with just a few ingredients.

If you are looking for an easy snack or a nourishing breakfast, this smoothie is a win for the whole family. Everyone will love it!

Storage

You can keep the Strawberry Smoothie in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, stored in a sealed container, but I suggest drinking it before 24 hours so you are sure to keep maximum nutrition and taste. You can store the smoothie or its ingredients in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Tips

– Strawberries play the starring role in this recipe, so make sure the ones you get are juicy and sweet.

– Sugar: I used 2 tablespoons of sugar. You can also cut it out for a lighter version or start with a single spoon and if necessary, add more according to your tastes. Or you can simply replace it with little maple syrup or agave if you really need a sweetness boost.

– Greek yogurt: it gives this recipe a protein boost and helpful probiotics. But you can use milk or yoghurt instead or soy milk or ice cream or cream but also fruit juice.

– Ice: it’s essential to obtain a perfect strawberry smoothie, because it gives the right frothy texture.

– You can make this drink with other fruit too: use raspberries, blueberries or any berries that are in season in place of the strawberries. Yummy!
