Savory Christmas Tree Appetizer, cute and fun festive appetizer, no cooking, is the perfect Christmas Eve dinner. Easy to prepare and quick.
This Christmas appetizer idea is cute, simple and can be whipped up in less than 30 minutes. We know that appetizers are often the first impression of any party, so if you are looking for something that looks impressive, but it’s also easy to make, give this recipe a try.
I used sandwich long bread, the one without the crust. I cut them with star-shaped cookie cutters of different sizes, then I filled each single layer (3 in total) with spreadable cheese cream, slices of mozzarella and raw salami.
You can customize the placeholder trees with the ingredients you prefer. Scroll down the page and you will find some tips at the bottom of the recipe.

Steps
1)
First, delicately remove the slices of bread from the package, place them on a cutting board and with 3 cut star-shaped biscuits of different sizes, cut out the stars.
Then, cut out the stars from the slices of salami . Press the mold firmly and, before removing it, lift the excess part, the one outside the mold: in this way you will be able to obtain precise shapes. If that’s not enough, help yourself with a sharp knife.
Proceed in the same way with the slices of mozzarella. I recommend mozzarella already cut into slices (like the one in the photo), not the fresh one, otherwise it would release too much water.
2)
Meanwhile, prepare the cream cheese: put the philadelphia (or the spreadable cheese you prefer) in a small bowl and, with a fork, mix it well. Here, if you want, you can add some thinly chopped, always cut thinly. arugula or chives.
Pour the cream into a piping bag with the nozzle you prefer (I had a star shaped one).
3)
At this point, you can begin to shape the trees. Then, take the largest bread star , cover it with the cream to the cheese (you can also spread it if you prefer), then add the star of mozzarella (do not match the tips) and finally, the one with the salami. Place a bit of spreadable cream in the center and continue with the other layers.
So, overlap the middle bread star, the cream cheese, mozzarella and salami and finished with a smaller star of bread.
Stick the tree with a skewer, decorate with rosemary needles and pomegranate arils and serve. Here they are. The Savory Christmas Tree Appetizer is ready. Enjoy!
Buon appetito.
Merry Christmas
Storage
You can keep the Savory Christmas Tree Appetizer in the refrigerator for 1 day, closed in an airtight container.
Tips and Tricks
– Cheese: you can replace the Philadelphia cheese with the spreadable cream you prefer. As well as sliced mozzarella. Depending on your tastes (or what you have in the fridge), you can use sliced Emmenthal or provola.
– To use them as placeholders, create labels with the guest’s name written on them (or simply “best wishes”), glue them on the toothpick and place each individual tree on the plate, on the festively decorated table.
