Cheese Tree Appetizer

Cheese Tree Appetizer, a very simple and no-cook recipe, perfect as an appetizer, for a buffet or as a starter for Christmas Eve dinner. Serve with toasted peanuts and other assorted dried fruit. Very scrumptious indeed!!

For the recipe, I suggest a type of cheese that is not too soft, but not too much seasoned either: therefore, fresh but not too much, practically a middle ground. I used a square cheese, but any round-cut cheese would work as well.

You can prepare the Cheese Tree appetizer in advance and store in the refrigerator. Only 1 recommendation: insert the salty sticks only when you want to eat it, or they become soft if in the fridge.

Ingredients

1 toma (or a similar cheese that is not too much fresh)
q.s. chive (to taste)
q.s. dried tomatoes in oil (to taste)
q.s. extra-virgin olive oil
q.s. dried chilli (red one)
q.s. pretzel sticks
q.s. roasted peanuts

Steps

First, take the cheese out of the refrigerator and place it with its paper on a cutting board, then cut it into triangles with a sharpened cheese knife.

I made some larger and some smaller, but if you prefer, you can make them all the same size.

And then, cut the salty sticks in half and insert them into the triangles from the shorter side.

Meanwhile, chop the chives (more or less 5 – 6 stems) and dried tomatoes (1 if it is big enough) with scissors, place them in a small bowl and mix well. If you want, you can also add a pinch of red chili pepper (if you like it).

Then, with a food brush, oil the trees with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and place them on a serving plate. You can replace the oil with acacia honey,
