Ingredients for Easy Homemade Sandwich Bread

This recipe makes one loaf.
  • 3 cupsall purpose (AP) flour (14 oz (400 g) or whole wheat)
  • 1/3 cupwater (80 ml)
  • 1/2 cupmilk (132 g)
  • 1/4 cupolive oil (50 ml)
  • 1 teaspoonsalt (7 g)
  • 1 teaspoonyeast (4 g)
  • 1 tablespoonmalt

Directions

  1. In the bowl of a mixer, using a dough hook, mix lukewarm water, milk, yeast, oil, malt and 3/4 flour.

  2. Then, add salt and remaining flour a little at a time. Continue kneading on low speed until a soft ball of dough forms and clears the sides of the bowl.

  3. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it properly and let it sit for 2 hours, until doubled in size.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface. Flatten the dough with your hands (or using a rolling pin) and fold it into 3 parts.

  6. Roll up the rectangle and place into a greased loaf pan.

  7. Let it rise for 1 hour.
