Halloween decorated cookies are nice cookies to give to children for the Halloween party. They are very simple to make and really greedy. I made ghosts and black kittens, but it is also possible to make Jack’o lantern cookies and mummies. For the preparation of the royal ice I recommend using pasteurized egg white. This chocolate shortcrust pastry is very versatile and you can also use it as a base for your tarts. Also, if you don’t like dark chocolate, you can replace it with milk chocolate.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cupbutter
- 1/2 cupsugar
- 1egg
- 11/4 cupflour
- 1 cupcocoa powder
- 1 cupdark chocolate (chopped)
- 1 teaspoonvanilla essence
For the royal icing
- 2 teaspoonsegg white
- 1 cuppowdered sugar
- 1 teaspoonlemon juice
Preparation
In a bowl, add the butter with the flour and cocoa. Blast the poor with butter. Add the egg with the vanilla essence and the melted chocolate. Knead the dough until it forms a loaf. Wrap in cling film and let it rest for one hour at room temperature. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 4 mm and cut with the desired molds. Place the biscuits in a baking tray lined with parchment paper and cook at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
Prepare the royal icing by whipping the egg white with the icing sugar and lemon juice until the mixture is white and firm. If necessary, add more icing sugar up to the desired consistency. The royal icing will have to be thick otherwise it will drip from the cookies.
Divide the royal icing into three parts and color them with black and orange. Decorate the cookies to your liking. Leave to dry for at least 6 hours before enjoying the Halloween decorated cookies
