Shortbread cookies (Frollini)

Shortbread cookies. It is a cookie made from flour, butter, eggs and sugar.

Frollini are shortbread cookies , a cookie made with sweet shortbread dough. Frollini are popular in Italy, one of the types of cookies that Italians eat for breakfast or as a snack. I usually make shortcrust pastry to make a tart and use the leftover dough to make cookies.

Crisp and crumbly butter cookie. This centuries-old cookie is loved all over the world. It is most popular during the holidays, but is just as welcome dipped in coffee on Sunday afternoons.

These shortbread cookies have a buttery flavor and crumbly texture, they are tantalizing and delicious. Humbly beautiful on their own with tea or coffee, they can also be topped with icing or chocolate.

1 cup unsalted butter (230 g)
1/2 cup sugar (100 g)
2 cups flour (250 g)
3 eggs
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps Shortbread cookies (Frollini)

Place the flour with the pinch of salt and sugar in the bowl, knead quickly and add one egg at a time, mixing thoroughly

Finally add the room-temperature butter, continuing to knead until the dough is smooth.

Pour the mixture onto a work surface and form into a ball.

Wrap the pastry in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator at least 1 hour before using.

As soon as the time is up, roll out the shortbread with the help of a rolling pin to within 0.4 inch.

Use cookie cutters of the desired firmness, line a baking sheet with baking paper and place the cookies spaced apart.

Bake in preheated oven 356° F for about 12 to 15 minutes, they should remain soft.

Wait for them to cool completely then sprinkle with gluten-free powdered sugar.

Serve to the sweet tooth for snacking with tea and coffee.
