Frosted Christmas cookies

Frosted Christmas cookies.  Christmas frosted cookies are perfect for giving as gifts or hanging on the tree, just form a little hole before baking, then insert a ribbon, and there you go! These are the best frosted cookies we’ve made this Christmas! This recipe has a simple dough that is easy to make, easy to roll out and work with, and won’t get ruined during baking, so your cookies will be perfect. You can decorate these cookies with the colored or white frosting recipe or just serve with powdered sugar.

Ingredients Frosted Christmas cookies

Ingredients for the shortbread

  • 4 cupsflour (450 g )
  • 1/2 cupicing sugar (120 g )
  • 3eggs
  • 2 cupsbutter (250 g )
  • 1/2 teaspooncinnamon powder
  • 1 pinchsalt

For the frosting

  • 1/4 cupegg white (70 g)
  • 2 cupsicing sugar (240)
  • 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  • food colors (to taste)

Preparation Frosted Christmas cookies

Prepare the shortcrust pastry

  1. Pour the soft butter in the bowl, add the sugar the cinnamon powder and salt, work little with your hands add the eggs , always work quickly.

    Finally add the flour, remove from the bowl and bring the cake base on the work surface to form a ball.

  2. Roll out the shortbread dough with a rolling pin and carve the cookies using Christmas shaped cookie cutters, we used trees, balls, star snowmen and more.

    Place them on a baking sheet on parchment paper.

  3. Bake the cookies at 350° F (180° C ) for 15 minutes, checking to make sure they don’t turn black.

  1. Allow the biscuits to cool and prepare the icing, whisk the egg white with the sugar until it becomes white and shiny continue for 1 minute adding lemon. 

    If you want, divide the mixture into several parts and add the food colors.

  2. Take back the cookies and decorate as desired. 

    Serve, hang or give as a gift!
