Steps Apple sauce

To prepare the apple juice we start by peeling the apples and cutting them into small pieces.
In a large saucepan put the apples, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. (You can also add nutmeg to your liking).
Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning, for 25 to 30 minutes. Blend with an immersion blender. The sauce should visibly thicken during this time and will thicken further when it has cooled.

To test the gelling, pour some jam onto the plate when you think it’s ready. It will cool quickly and show you the finished texture.
Once the texture is to your liking, it’s time to pot your applesauce!
