Electric hand mixer

step 1

In a large bowl, put soft unsalted butter and sugar and beat with an electric mixer until you get a light and frothy cream.

Combine eggs, one at a time, sifted flour with baking powder and grated (organic) lemon zest, always continue to beat with an electric whisk.

Finally add milk and beat until you get a homogeneous mixture.

step 2

Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured mould.

Peel apples, remove the core and cut apples into thin slices.

Arrange apple slices radially over the cake, covering the entire surface and finally sprinkle with sugar and a a few pieces of butter.

step 3

Bake at 350 F (175 C) for about 50 minutes: a golden crust must form on the surface of the cake.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool before removing from the mould.

Serve grandma’s apple pie by sprinkling the surface with icing sugar.
